She was predeceased by: her parents, K. N. Narasimha Ayengar and Seethamma Ayengar; and her siblings, Dr. Shanta Ayengar, Prahlad Ayengar, Dr. Vishwanath Ayengar, Gopal Ayengar and Nagaprasanna Ayengar.
She is survived by: her husband V. K. Chari of Burnt Hills; and her siblings, Godawari Ayengar, Jayalakshmi Patnaik, Anuradha Ayengar, Anjana Ayengar, Shree Ayengar and Dr. Narayan Ayengar. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
