It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Raymond Gary Granston of Burdett, New York, born in Montour Falls, New York, who passed away on October 25, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Granston and Eleanor Granston (Davis); his siblings, William and Diana; and his cousin Frank Davis.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Granston; his brother-in-law Jeffrey Eggersdorf (Cici); his cousins, David Eggersdorf and Donna Davis; and his nephew Robert Beattie (David Bartone).

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Burdett Fire Department or the Schuyler County Sheriff's Assoc.

“Mary Ann knew Ernie from her work at Dept. of Social Services in Montour Falls, when he was one of the security officers. One day I was in the parking lot there when Ernie came out and I asked if he had deep roots in the area, as I do. It turned out we have a common family connection through marriage of one of my ancestors, Jesse Denning. One of Jesse's wives was connected with the Granston family. I did some genealogy to learn more. Mary Ann and I were pleased to be invited to his wedding.”
