He was predeceased by: his spouse Mary-Kent Prentice (Jewett); and his sibling Robert Prentice. He is survived by: his children, Cricket Gordon of Barney Prentice, M. D., Zandy Barrett (late Vin) and Holly Prentice-Stabler (Ramsay).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dr. Prentice's memory may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
