He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Tong and Norma Tong; and his brother Michael Tong. He is survived by: his significant other Carol Santangelo; and his siblings, Toby Tong (Deborah "Twinkle"), Bonnie Tong and Penny Jalosky (A. Thomas). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

“Although I didn't know Terry personally, we were friends on Facebook and I greatly admired his photography. I ran into him at Tops once and introduced myself as a fellow photographer. We chatted for a few moments. I knew he had health issues but he seemed so full of energy the day I met him. I could tell by his photos and postings that he really loved Carol. I'm in shock in learning of his passing and feel very sad about it. My sincerest condolences to all of his loved ones.”
