He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Chester Kay and Emily Marie Kroll Kay of Clearfield, Utah.; his siblings, Carol Jordan (Jim) and Thomas Kay (Kathryn); his wife Shawna Clayson Kay; his children, Jedediah Richard Kay (Catrina Lark Kay), Hawai'i (Christian Royal Kay), Lindsey Jean Kay (Hawai'i), Benjamin Peter Kay (Nicole Alice Kay) and Zachary Ethan Kay (Lindsay Anne Kay); and his grandchildren, Ethan Benjamin Kay, Dean Tyson Lux, Aidan Xavier Kay, Sylvia Emily Kay, Vivian Nicole Kay, Shawna Maria Kay-Giauque, Dahlia Grace Valenti-Kay, Evangeline Freya Koker, Royal Eli Benjamin Kay, Emily Carol Kay, Olivia Emily Kay and Everlynn Rhuna Koker.

Viewing was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the John E. Roberts Funeral Home (280 Grover Cleveland Hwy, Buffalo, NY 14226). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1424 Maple Rd, Buffalo, NY 14221).
