He was predeceased by: his wife Janet (Sia); his parents, Leroy W., Sr. and Loretta Bates (Guzzo); and his brother Albert Bates. He is survived by: his children, Lee Bates (Katie Pohl) and Kimberly Bates-Grinsell (Timothy); and his grandchildren, Sara Grace, Anthony and Gracey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kolano Funeral Home (396 Amherst St, Buffalo, NY 14207). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Assumption R. C. Church (435 Amherst St, Buffalo, NY 14207).
