He was predeceased by: his brother Bob (Mary Santella); and his brother-in-law Paul Wiltberger. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Wiltberger; his sister Jerri Kazmierczak; his son Joel (Laura); his grandchildren, Marco and Sawyer; and his siblings-in-law, Len (Judy Meyers), Don (Diane), John (late Michael Rizzo), Joni (late Bob Fiene), Peggy (Brian Hart) and Lori (Mark Ender). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Those who knew him loved him for his intriguing conversations, his genuine sense of humor, his jaunty black hat and in his later years, his fight to stay healthy and persevere over Parkinson's.

He truly was the most amazing radio personality I had ever heard. I mirrored my radio career with everything that he taught me--both as a dedicated listener as well as a personal relationship that covered 6 formative years of my youth. I am filled with so many amazing memories. He was a fascinating man, so well-read and intelligent; amazing interviewer”
