He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Jacobs, Lenaire Herring, Sr. and Jenene Seymour (Harry); his grandchildren, Allison "Peanut", Lenaire, Jr., Lendia, Adonis, Hunter and Jaden; his girlfriend Christine Kirkwood; his siblings, Henry Herring (Marcella), Annette Blanks (Carl) and Hazel Hand (Darnell); and his brother-in-law Carl Jarrell. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Herring Family Cemetery (291 Morning Dove Ln, Willard, NC 28478).
