He was predeceased by: his siblings-in-law, Susan Sandecki, John Sandecki (Anita) and Tom Sandecki. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Caputa; his children, AJ Caputa (Ashley) and Kyle Caputa (Meagan); his grandchildren, Andrew, Xander, Niko, Callan, Mara and John; his sisters, Eloise Gregorio (Rick) and Stephanie Geras (David); and his sibling-in-law Noel Sandecki. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
