He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Bell, and Nellie Ward Bell, Jr.; his former wife Leona Bell; and his son Karl Bell. He is survived by: his wife Alicia; his children, Terri Faes (Rick), Melanie Smith (Scott), Dexter and Willam Bell (Janet); his stepchildren, Donna Dorr (Bob), Debbie Chapman, Denise Barker, Teresa Dunn, Janice Alberry (Randy), James Lewis III and Christopher Lewis; and his sister Cheryl Collver (Danny).

Visitation was held on Monday, September 9th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home Inc. (632 State St, Watertown, NY 13601-2839). A memorial service was held on Monday, September 9th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
