He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles LaForty and Marion LaForty (Sibley); his son Carl; his siblings, Charles, Carl and Constance Stevens (Jerome); and his brother-in-law Ralph Pacella.
He is survived by: his wife Diane; his son Charles LaForty (Bonnie); his stepdaughter Tracy Meola (James); and his grandchildren, Colton LaForty, Christa LaForty, Alex McCreadie and Kallie McDermott. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
