She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Hewes and Mildred Ward Hewes; her siblings, David, Arthur Hewes and Ruth; and her brother-in-law Jim Spicer.
She is survived by: her husband Edward C. Monroe; her son Charles Albert Monroe; her granddaughter Lily Jean Monroe; and her sister Susan Clark. She is also survived by four step children and several nieces and nephews.
