He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignatius Aloysius and Helen Rayder Scannell. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Rae Wooley; his children, Stephen Scannell (Carrie Sacco), Colleen Dodge (Dennis), Gregory Scannell (Chisako), Chris Scannell (Dawn), William M. Scannell, Carolyn Falconer and Stephanie Donnelly (Kevin); his grandchildren, Will, Evan, Stewart, Spencer, Aiko, Wade, Ellis, Noah, Aaron, Kirk, Samantha, Sara, Erika, Shannon and Brennan; and his great grandchildren, Sonny, Holly, Vaughn, Everett, Maya and Leo.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home (25 Railroad Ave, Chatham, NY 12037). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Saint James Church (250 Cathedral Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11201).
