He was predeceased by: his brother James Balis; and his son James Harry Peter Balis. He is survived by: his son George; his daughter-in-law Alexis; and his grandson Peter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
