She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Umberto Bonavita and Rosa Bonavita (Parrello); her husband John; her child John-Paul (Jessica); her grandchildren, Mia, Ava, Chiara, Alessia and Nicolas; her daughters, Adriana Imparato (Vincenzo) and Johanna Svenelid (Darin); and her siblings, Francesco Bonavita (Mariella) and Vera Agarwal (Krishan). She was also cherished by her grandchildren, her grieving family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 4th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home (7447 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10307). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 5th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church (6135 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10309). A burial was held on Thursday, September 5th 2024 at the Resurrection Cemetery (361 Sharrott Ave, Staten Island, NY 10309). During the Covid Pandemic she was featured in the Staten Island Advance for creating the piece, "Anguish and Hope.".
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mafalda Cento's name can be made to the South Shore Artists Group, P.O. Box 60187, Staten Island, NY 10306, or envelopes will be available at Bedell-Pizzo funeral home.
