He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Ortiz and Carmen Ortiz (Garcia); his son Andrew M. Ortiz; and his siblings, Frank Ortiz and Carmen Arcuri.
He is survived by: his wife Eneida "Neddy" Ortiz (Rios); his children, John A. Ortiz Jr. of Hazlet and Christine DeNora (Lewis) of Manalapan; his granddaughter Danielle Nicholson (Thomas); and his great grandchild Giovanni Lewis Nicholson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. (3269 NJ-35, Hazlet, NJ 07730). A prayer was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
