He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel (Robertine Maynard) and Barbadian. He is survived by: his wife Tina Gaskin Maynard; his children, Charles and Jeanne (Zadi); his grandson Japhia; and his friends, Manny, Rachel Reiser, Ziyanda, Mark, Kingsley and Trina.
His contributions to academia were significant, and he was involved in numerous projects, including helping to set up programs with Emmanuel Reiser for Medgar Evers College and contributing to major publications with Dr. Craig Ellison.
