Allie Idonia Beale Colbert was born on June 3, 1933 in Suffolk, VA to the late William and Idonia Beale. She transitioned on August 28, 2024. Allie received her Early Education at Mary E. Estes Primary School in Suffolk, VA. She was crowned Home Coming Queen her senior year in high school. Miss East Suffolk where she graduated in 1952.
She moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1954 and married Richard Colbert (deceased) on June 26, 1954. Through their union they had 3 children. Deborah Walston-Rudder (Claudius), Sonica Colbert Murray (Harry) and Ronald Colbert.
Allie loved The Lord and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY for over 50 years. She was a Faithful Tither and a Cheerful Giver.
She loved to cook and was always quick to feed anyone that needed a meal. She had a warm laugh and gave the best hugs. She loved watching Westerns and Law N Order.
Allie worked at Metro Knitting Mills in Brooklyn, NY where she was a Garment Inspector from June 11th, 1972 - January 7th, 1988. She started working at Napco Security Systems in Amityville, NY from November 7, 1988 - December 13th, 1991 where she retired.
Allie has 4 surviving sisters: Mary (Walter deceased), Marion (Willie deceased), Carol (Henry), Janice (Donald deceased).
She is pre-deceased by her sister Mildred, Her Brothers William Mack, Frederick and Joseph. Her Nephews Chris and Robert.
She was Blessed with 8 Grandchildren: Rashawn (Shawn), Shaqunna, James IV (Jennifer), Leonard (Shameike), Ebony, Jamel, Ty-Reak (Jasmine), Katwona (Nga).
32 Great Grandchildren: Michael Jr, Elijah, Amisa, Devin, Drahcir, Skye, Amaya, Alayla, Shayla, Jaiden, Cameron, Devon, Dayasha, Danielle, Todd, Teyonnie, Tess, Tyler, ScottLynn, Scott, Sire, Jameek, Ty-Reak Jr, Hendrix, Heartley, Nyha, Nazir, Valentina, Ayanna, Prince, Jordan and Audrion.
4 Great-Great Grandchildren: Journey, IcyLynn, Kane and Nova.
Allie leaves behind a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends who will cherish her memory.
