She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Walcott and James Walcott; her brother Victor Stevens; and her child Haraldo. She is survived by: her siblings, Evadney Walcott, Elizabeth Walcott, Henry Walcott, Mary Walcott and Eileen Streams; her children, Vedamay, Sandra, Meedil, Roy and Ann; and her husband Nathaniel Powell. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and hosts of friends.
In September of 2023, MaLisa contracted COVID-19 and it impacted her mobility.
