He was predeceased by: his parents, Philemon Brown and Beatrice Brown; and his siblings, Akbar Muhammad, Frank Chestnut, Edward Chestnut, Rose Grant and Margie Evans.

He is survived by: his son Dwayne Anthony Brown; his grandson Christopher Michael Brown; his wife Julia M. Brown; his son Christopher; his grandson Christopher M. Brown Jr.; his sons, Dylan A. Brown and Colin D. Brown; his sisters, Mary Murray of Bronx, NY, Mary Chestnut and Hazel Sanders of Walterboro, SC; his nephew Kevin Barbour of Bronx, NY; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Davis, Rachel Barbour, Ophelia Brown, Albert Brown and Charles Davis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
