He was predeceased by: his wife Reta; and his son Mark. He is survived by: his siblings, Walter "Bud" (Cindy), Marilyn Lage and Edith Downey; his children, Barb Sackel (Grant) and Douglas (Diane); and his daughter-in-law Carol Lage. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the United Services (USO).
