He was predeceased by: his son Dale Toal; and his siblings, Albert, Thomas, Joanne Ingham, Elaine Marshall and Pauline Klaver.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Darlene Pulliam (John), David Toal (Penny) and Diane Engle (Scott); his daughter-in-law Susan Toal; and his siblings, Geraldine Ingham, Theresa Veness (Ray) and Donald "Jack" Toal (Doris). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
