Zaccaria R. Crankshaw Obituary
Zaccaria R. Crankshaw, age 24, of Broadalbin, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
He was born on June 15, 1995, in Gloversville, a son of Richard Crankshaw and Janene Bouck.
Zaccaria was a Class of 2013 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School where most of the students knew him as “Squid”. Zacc was an avid skateboarder and loved helping young people through the sport; he often volunteered at Centro Civico in Amsterdam. He often said that his skateboard had saved him from isolation and believed the sport has the power to unite. Zacc loved his friends like family and loved his family fiercely. Although he leaves no children, he leaves two rescue dogs and a cat that he loved like children. He also enjoyed mischief, music, crystals, and loved nature, new people, new experiences, and traveled most of the United States. Many will recall how Zaccaria went out of his way to make everyone feel accepted without pretense. His smile was for everyone and generosity was his very nature.
In addition to his mother and father, Zaccaria is survived by his companion Darcy Duross, one brother Jacob Crankshaw, stepfather Toby Hogan, maternal grandmother Linda Willis Bouck, paternal grandmother Anna DePalma, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family are welcome to speak towards the end of the visitation on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, February 10 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Zaccaria’s family asks that his memory be honored by a donation to a local animal shelter of one’s choice.
