He was predeceased by: his grandparents, George, Dorothy Barben and Anna Hoyt; his uncle George (Barben); and his brother Shawn Hoyt.

He is survived by: his parents, Robert Hoyt and Loretta Barben Hoyt of Broadalbin; his children, Derek J. Collins, Brianna M. Collins and Hope Rivera (Anthony) of Laguna Niguel, CA; his siblings, Brett Hoyt (Christie) of Galway and Bobbie Jo Bardascini of Broadalbin; his sister-in-law Amy Hoyt Phelps of Broadalbin; his grandchildren, Karysen, Evan and Peyton Collins; his nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn Bardascini, Kayla, Amber, Madison Hoyt, Kyle Ferguson, Jonathan and Joshua Hoyt; his uncle Pete; his aunt Linda Hoyt; and his pet Muffy.
