Arthur C. Weiderman Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Arthur C. Weiderman (Broadalbin, New York), who passed away on February 27, 2010, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He worked for many years at 'Doc" Crannell Veterinary in Gloversville, and also many years at Broadalbin High School. He also worked at Earl's store in Broadalbin, Gloversville Glove Shop and Broadalbin Fiber Conversion. He married the love of his life Mary Alice Porter May 6, 1945. She passed away February 27, 2010. He retired at the age of 63 to spend many quality years with his wife, family and friends. There wasn't anything he didn't enjoy – loved life every day with the most positive outlook and worry-free attitude. Arthur was also a Cub Scout Leader for more than 10 years and a Trustee at the Broadalbin Methodist Church for seven years, both being a large part of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, 'Papa Art', great-grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. Arthur is survived by his three children Christine Weiderman Brooker and husband Gary of Broadalbin; Kate Weiderman Phelon of Westfield MA; and Thomas Weiderman and wife Laura of Ashburnham, MA; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Phelon (Jenn), Gail Brooker DeCicco (Tom), Gregory Brooker (Nikki), Megan Phelon, Benjamin Weiderman, Nicholas Weiderman and Rachel Weiderman; a great-great granddaughter Ellie Rose DeCicco; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and dear friends. He will be sadly missed by the 'boys' and friends at the daily Broadalbin Stewarts Coffee Hour. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his 13 siblings, Edith, Ethel, Dorothy, Howard, Hazel, Bernice, Robert, Floyd, Lester, Helen, Thelma, Clara, and Barbara. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 27th at the C & R restaurant 1 to 5pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Johnstown NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Arthur to the Broadalbin Methodist Church, 65 North Street, Broadalbin, NY 12025 and the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
