We are sad to announce that on November 1, 2021, Richard C. Hand of Brightwaters, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Jean (Grover); his children, Jason Hand (Jennifer), Brendan Hand (Kathryn) and Meghan Lambert (Connor); his sister Virginia Durett of Richland, WA.; and his grandchildren, Aiden Hand, Ciara Hand, Alexis Hand, Lauren Hand, Ryan Hand, Lily Lambert and Duke Lambert. He is also survived by five nephews and their children, and one niece.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Learning Connection, 1725 Brentwood Road, Brentwood, NY 11717 or St. Patrick Parish Social Ministry, 9 North Clinton Avenue, Bay Shore, NY 11706.

“Dear Friends and Family of Richard. I graduated with Richie from Holy Cross College in 1966. We hung out together often and played basketball together, a sport at which he excelled. In the summers I would drive out from Elmont to his house and we would head for Victor’s Hideaway/Kluge’s for a night of fun together. As I said, for a time we were pretty good pals. He was a great guy. He will be missed. Tom Kiley Holy Cross Class of 1966”
