We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2019, at the age of 83, John Joseph Hegarty (Brightwaters, New York), born in New York, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brother Timothy Hegarty. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Hegarty; his children, Mary Toomey (Jack), Timothy Hegarty (Katie) and John Hegarty (Kerri); his grandchildren, Ryan Hegarty, Colleen Toomey, Elizabeth Hegarty, Andrew Hegarty, Michaela Toomey, Rachel Hegarty, John Toomey, Owen Hegarty and Julia Hegarty; and his siblings, Michael Hegarty (Anita), Chris Hegarty (Ann) and Patty Tesauro (late William). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name would be appreciated to the Katie McBride Foundation or the Glen Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Squad .
