It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Hegarty of Brightwaters, New York, born in New York, New York, who passed away on October 19, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix McGowan and Maura O'Sullivan McGowan; her husband John Joseph Hegarty; her siblings, Lawrence P., Felix J., John F. and Mary Baxter; and her sister-in-law Maureen McGowan.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Toomey (Jack), Timothy Hegarty (Katie) and John Hegarty (Kerri); her grandchildren, Ryan Hegarty, Colleen Toomey, Elizabeth Hegarty, Andrew Hegarty, Michaela Toomey, Rachel Hegarty, John Toomey, Owen Hegarty and Julia Hegarty; and her sister-in-law Patty Tesauro (late William). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's name would be appreciated to the Katie McBride Foundation.
