Barbara J. Mayes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara J. Mayes of Brewster, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 21, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfus Ingersoll and Marion Ingersoll (Bierce); her husbands, Malcolm E. Mayes, Sr. and Garry S. Mayes, Sr.; her children, Malcolm E. Mayes, Jr. and Pamela Sluk; and her siblings, Rose, Ellen Bierce, Jimmy and Billy Dakin.
She is survived by: her children, Garry S. Mayes, Jr. of Wingdale, Joseph M. Mayes of Pawling, Laura Mayes of Wingdale, Barbara Mittlestat of Wingdale and Jacquline Mayes of Wingdale. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Horn & Thomes, INC Funeral Home (83 E Main St, Pawling, NY 12564). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Memory of Barbara be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
