He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clinton Newton and Frances Newton (Remington); his wife Gertrude Person; his children, Benny Newton, Greta Manning, Robert Newton (Todd) and Sherry Granger (Charlie); his grandchildren, Billie Jo Pratt (JR), Craig House (Amanda Brochu), Ashley LaVine (Mike McTauge), Katelyn Hill and Hannah Granger (Jordon); his great grandchildren, Matthew, Carter, Kelsey, Robbie, Connor, Jake, Ryan and Cliff; and his sister Betty Newton.
