He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph E. Walter and Frances Walter (Graefeld); his daughter Marlene Wiles; and his siblings, Joseph, Richard, James, David, Marie and Judy.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Walter; his children, Lisa M. Schmid (Kent), Peter J. Walter (Carla), Christopher T. Walter (Allison) and Mary E. Vanslyke (Shawn); his grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Maria, Charles, Martha, Christina, Caroline, Cate, Jennifer, Christopher, Jeffrey, Leif, Lily and Andrew; his siblings, John Walter (Janice) and Emilie Ring (Thomas); and his siblings-in-law, Margaret and John.
Memorials may be made to either the Boston Lions Club or Patchin Volunteer Fire Company.
