He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn "Sally" Ruth; his parents, Clarence Ruth and Edna Widrick Ruth; and his siblings, Margaret, Richard, Donald, Mark and Karl.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Ruth (Tracy), Ava, Brenda Carpenter and Dennis Ruth (Kimberly); and his siblings, Alice Nickerson, David Ruth, Frances "Tillie" Nickerson and Betty Lutz. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
