He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Alphonsine Hart Cartier, Sr.; his son Scott Cartier of May; his brother John Cartier; his half-brother Maurice Cartier; and his sisters, Marjorie Jock, Janet Bigness and Yvonne Lunan.
He is survived by: his wife Laura M. French; his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Joelle Cartier of Gouverneur, NY.; his daughters, Christina (Bernard Charlebois) and Carrie (Leonard Oakes, Jr.); his half-brother Raymond (Patricia Cartier) of Fort Covington, NY.; his grandchildren, Hope Schrader-Bogett, Tyler Charlebois, Jenna Oakes, Tyra Cartier, Tayler, Savanna and McKenna Oakes; and his great grandchildren, Noah Schrader, Micah Bogett, Payton Charlebois, Greyson Oakes and Kelsie Campbell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
