He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor C. Whitney and Gladys Beckwith Whitney; his former wife Janet Green; his brother Rick Whitney Bolivar (Lois); his grandson William Dowd; and his brother-in-law Beverly.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Reisman; his children, Rhonda Smyers Richburg (Dave) and Richard Whitney Scio (Paula); and his siblings-in-law, Sue Peck Wellsville (Dick), Sally Dannheim Wellsville (Fred), Brenda Day Perry (Howard), Maryanne Whitney Belmont and Roger Reisman Rochester (Maria). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.
