He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cole and Mary Jane Cole (Dilthey). He is survived by: his wife Erica Matson Cole; his children, Gage Cole and Averie Matson; and his sisters, Elizabeth and Katherine. He is also survived by 3 nephews and many dear and loving friends.
