It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thelma Powers of Blodgett Mills, New York, born in Cortlandville, New York, who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Myers and Mary Stage Myers; her former husband Willard Dodge; her husband Seth Powers; her children, Harold R. Dodge, Raymond W. Dodge, Don Ellis and Beatrice Sanford; her grandson Ralph D. Sanford; her stepchildren, Thomas Powers, David Powers and Joan Nadge; and her siblings, Charles Myers, Lawrence Myers, Claude Myers, Marlea "Molly" Plummer, Jennie Haven, Hazel Lapp, Gertrude "Tudy" Leitch, Betty Baum and Edna Spencer.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Donna Dodge of Marathon, NY; her stepdaughters, Susan Powers of Cortland and Marsha Havran (Victor) of Cortland; and her stepchildren-in-law, Charlene Powers of Auburn, NY, Sharon Powers of Depew, NY and Jim Nadge of Homer, NY. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 31 great great grandchildren, 5 great great great grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren, 35 step great grandchildren, 31 step great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. (9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY 13045). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of one's choice.
