He was predeceased by: his parents, John L., Sr. and Charlotte Russell. He is survived by: his wife Debra Noble Russell; his children, Brad Russell (Brandy) of Coleman, TX, Andria Speros (Mark) of Westminster, CO and Brent Russell of Attica; his aunt Lyda Metcalf of Arkport; and his siblings, Glenda Wilkins of Nunda, Dan Russell of Hornell, Carol Carey (Tim) of Leicester, Patti Duckworth (Randy) of St. Louis, MS, Tina Carney (Chris) of Leicester, Terry Russell (Michelle) of Hemlock and Jody Ostrander (Joel) of Dalton. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
