He is survived by: his wife Linda J. Bates; his children, Michele Bates, Nicole Bates and Jason Bates (Cari Watkins-Bates); and his great grandchildren, Latoya Barnett, Alissa Scofield, Sage Tifft, Ethan Bates, Jacob Bates, Jayden Ball and Logan Spring.
