He was predeceased by: his wife Joan; and his parents, Alvin Hammond and Elaine Hammond. He is survived by: his children, Alvin Hammond, III, Amy Hammond, Robin Hammond and Robert Hammond (Eileen); his grandchildren, Kimberly, Mari-Ann and John; and his brothers, Charles Hammond (Linda) and Roger Hammond.

Donations may be made to Lourdes Hospice in his memory.
