She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Yerden and Elsie Yerden (Maxon); her husband Joseph Hammersmith; her grandson Christopher Whitman; and her siblings, Doris Teal, Luella Osterhout and Elmer Yerden.
She is survived by: her daughter Lois Whitman (Brian Clark); her niece Sally Smith (Cathy Russell); and her foster son Joseph Rock. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
