He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert "Herb" Ridd and Josephine Ridd (Beedham); and his brother Randy L. Ridd. He is survived by: his son Ian Ridd (Grace Devalder); his sister Robin Mitchell (Randy); his nieces and nephews, Jessica Quaintance, Jodi Mitchell (Joey), Kyle Mitchell (Lauren), Bryanna Tomporowski (Zach) and Randi Lynn Ridd (Dominic); his aunts, Elaine McPherson (Don), Ellen Heiby (Daryl), Joan Ridd and Nancy Beedham; and his close friends, Walt Crooks and Kelly Quinn.
