He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Swanson; and his uncle Harold Swanson. He is survived by: his wife Donna Harner; his daughter Cheri Swanson (Charles Hahn) of Winston-Salem, NC; his brother-in-law Richard Harner of Jamestown; and his pet Beamer.
