He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Lane and L. Bertice Lane (Tache); his daughter Christine W. Lane; his brother Whitney L. Lane; and his nephew Craig A. Lane.

He is survived by: his close friend Marian Donnelly; his daughter Erica D. Mortati (Thomas J. Mortati); his sister-in-law Carolyn Van Ness; and his niece Radha Devi (Kimberly Lane).
