We are sad to announce that on August 7, 2023, at the age of 70, Edward S. Taft of Beaver Dams, New York, born in Montour Falls, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, William Taft and Joanna Taft (Houck); and his siblings, William Green and Connie Case. He is survived by : his wife Chrystal McIlwain; his daughters, Linn Aftuck (Robert) and April Simmons (Matthew); his grandchildren, Logan Ayers, Elizabeth Ayers, Colton Aftuck and Corbin Simmons; his sisters, Aggie Miller and JoAnne Olah (John); and his pets, Rainy, Cole and Rosie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“Chrystal and family. Sorry to hear about Ed. He was one of the first people I sold wood to when I was a young forest tech. I always remember talking to him about hunting, fishing and the woods while sipping a cup of coffee at the house. He was a kind, generous man one many of us looked up to. Jim and Helen Bagley”
