He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Merrill and Orpha Merrill; his mother-in-law Ruth Tyler Merrill; his siblings, William Merrill, Noble Merrill, Frank Merrill, George Merrill and Charlotte Merrill Rozell; his siblings-in-law, Jesse Tyler, Waldo Tyler, Alvin Rozell, Mary Brewer Tyler, Marjorie Nichols Tyler and Norma Merrill; and his granddaughters, Emily Sue Merrill Fedoriw, Charity Hope Cole and Seglinda Lynn Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife June Merrill; his children, Donald Merrill (Lucinda), Richard Merrill, Bruce Merrill (Heather), Phillip Merrill (Heather), Virginia Merrill Taylor, Christine Paris (John III), Linda Wheat (Rodney), Deborah Dawson (Mark), Bonnie Scuteri (Vincent) and Tammy Cole (Mike); his brother Herbert Merrill (Judith); and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Tyler Merrill, Jane Mullins (John), Betty Tyler and Len Tyler (Vera). He is also survived by 37 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
