He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl August and Leona Josephine Overfield Diener; his wife Shirley; his daughter Kathie D. Halvey; and his sisters, Dorothy Cumming and Shirley Mead.
He is survived by: his grandsons, William J. Halvey of Wappingers Falls, Joseph C. Halvey (Alexandra Flagg) of Alexandria, Virginia and Patrick J. Halvey (Kayla); his granddaughter-in-law Kristin Catalano; his son-in-law Peter T. Halvey; his great grandchildren, Francisco, Maria, Rocco, Salvatore, John Joseph "JJ", Aubrey and Madeline; his niece Carol O'Donnell; and his nephew John Cumming.
