He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Hopkins and Irene Messer Hopkins; his siblings, Reed Hopkins and Ruth Steele; his former wife Mary L. Hopkins; and also, Doris, David, Donald and Diane.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Bandi Hopkins of Beacon; his children, David M. Hopkins, Doris A. Zicari (Peter) of Cleveland Heights, OH, Diane M. Phillips (Robert) of Perry, AR and Claire I. Vigna (Thomas) of Hopewell Junction, NY.; his grandchildren, Anthony William Zicari, Courtney Claire Vigna and Kyle Thomas Vigna; and his brother Rodney Hopkins of Kentucky. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
