He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Eugene Rihm and Wilma Rihm; his wife Margaret Bass; his stepchildren, Dawn (Michael Kovacs) and Jimi Bass; his grandchildren, Heather Anne Shay, Katie Bass, Michael and Danielle Kovacs; his brothers, James Rihm (Susan Rihm) and Otmar Rihm; his niece Jennifer; and his nephew James. He was also cherished by her three children.
