He was predeceased by: his parents, Frans Eskil Sjoholm and Anne Stuart; his former wife Doris Ann Sjoholm; and his son Erik Sjoholm. He is survived by: his children, Christopher, Thor Sjoholm, Sigrid Vaughn and Sonja Tyus; his stepmother Marilyn Sjoholm; his sisters, Jeanne Kagey and Margaret Hayes; and his stepchildren, Roy, Robert Ferin and Sabrina Sternbach. He is also survived by his five granddaughters and three grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Our Savior Lutheran Church (1400 NY-52, Fishkill, NY 12524). The military honors was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery (801 US-9, Fishkill, NY 12524). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Emil's name to the New York State Veterans Home in Montrose or to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill.
