He is survived by: his children, Christopher, Thor Sjoholm, Sigrid Vaughn and Sonja Tyus; his stepmother Marilyn Sjoholm; his sisters, Jeanne Kagey and Margaret Hayes; and his stepchildren, Roy, Robert Ferin and Sabrina Sternbach. He is also survived by his five granddaughters and three grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Emil's name to the New York State Veterans Home in Montrose or to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill.
