He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Jones Burke and David J. Burke Sr.; his parents-in-law, James J. Hopper and Lillian McGrath Hopper; and his siblings-in-law, James Hopper, Thomas Hopper, Raymond Champlin, Mary Hopper, Claudia Hopper, Kathleen Hopper, Barbara Hopper and Anne Champlin.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia H. Hopper; his children, Erin VanBuren (Jim) of Beacon, NY and David J. Burke III (Maria) of Marlboro, NY.; his grandchildren, Patrick Burke of New York City, Isabella Burke of Marlboro, NY, Mikalya and Patricia VanBuren of Beacon, NY.; his siblings, Bill (Ginger) of Fishkill, NY, Mary Murphy (Don) of Newburgh, NY and Bettye Gobbelet (Pete) of Hopewell Junction, NY.; and his siblings-in-law, John Hopper of Fishkill, NY and Elizabeth Hopper of Beacon, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to the Church of St. Joachim - St. John the Evangelist.
